CAMP GRIFFIN  was Boot Camp for Vermonters when they arrived in 1861 at the seat of war outside Washington D.C.  The site is now part of the CIA facility in Langley, Virginia.

The GMCWRT Newsletter, christened The Camp Griffin Gazette by GMCWRT founder and President Jack Anderson, was the first encampment of what was to become the Olde Vermont Brigade.  There, the Vermonters where trained, suffered, and died of diseases previously unknown to them, before they "saw the elephant".
